Slug - Not For Sale GRV Discos
file under Heavy/power
metal
Koen: Slug arose in Brazil in 1992,
heavily inspired by the 70's and 80's rock bands. The first
demo tape 'Slug Demo Tape' saw the light of day a year later,
followed up by the debut album 'Shattered' (1997). 'Maxi
Single' (2001) and 'Points Of View' (2002). The band
accomplished a South American tour, shared the stage with Paul
Di'Anno (Slug musicians participated in his band during his
Brazilian tour), Nightwish and Overkill, and has played two of
the largest festivals in their home country: Festrock and
Porăo Do Rock (and appeared before 70.000 people).
Nowadays Slug consists of James Hetfield (a.k.a.
Carlos André Cascelli, guitars and vocals), Kirk Hammet
(a.k.a. Guilherme M. Negrăo, guitars), Jason Newsted (a.k.a.
Gustavo Parolin, bass) and Lard Ullrich (a.k.a. Ricardo Coura,
drums). I guess you know what 'Not For Sale' sounds like now?
If you're into 'Load' and 'Reload' maybe this is a fine album
for your despicable ears. In my humble opinion this album is a
reproduction of everything the Four Horsemen have ever done
before. All Slug songs can be purchased and downloaded via the
iTunes portal, so do not hesitate if you're an admirer of that
kind of style.
